Who We Are
Inspired Projects Limited, owned and operated by Chris and Tracey Flude, are a residential building company based in Hawkes Bay. Established in 2014 they have completed many projects including new homes and major renovations. Chris and Tracey have also joined the eHaus team in 2024, purchasing the eHaus Hawkes Bay licence to enable Inspired Projects to bring innovative and sustainable building solutions to the region by incorporating passive house principles where possible to achieve high performing homes.
Chris brings over 20 years of experience in the building industry, including 4 years project managing high end developments in South West London. He is a registered Master Builder and licensed building practitioner. Tracey brings a background of legal expertise specialising in property and ensures all things run smoothly. Inspired Projects Limited is characterised by a passion for excellence and a focus on personalised, client-centred service delivering high quality projects on time and within budget.
The Inspired Projects team is also made up of a team of 8 builders (including 2 apprentices). We maintain a careful balance within our team, comprising a majority of experienced builders alongside our apprentices. This deliberate approach ensures that our projects benefit from a wealth of expertise and craftmanship while also providing opportunities for the next generation of builders to learn and grow under solid mentorship. This blend of experience and emerging talent not only guarantees the highest quality of work but also reflects our commitment to investing in the future of the construction industry.
Our Process
We recognise that each build or renovation project is unique and one of your biggest investments. We are passionate about what we do and at Inspired Projects we want to work together with you every step of the way. A general outline of our process is set out below:
Step 1: Discovery call
Tell us about your project. We will talk about how far through the process you are. Do you have land to build on or a house you are looking to renovate? Do you have plans ready to go? Or do you need some help getting started?
Step 2: Face to face meeting
Where possible we will meet on site to discuss your project. We’ll discuss in detail what you are wanting to achieve, when you are wanting to do it and what it could potentially cost.
Step 3: Concept Plans
If you don’t have plans sorted we will work with one of our design partners that we feel is best suited to your needs or we are happy to work with your architect.
Step 4: Estimate
Once a concept is chosen we will give an estimate for the project. At this stage we will pencil in a start date for your project.
Step 5: Construction Drawings
If the estimate fits your budget and you are wanting to proceed we will enter into a preliminary agreement and full construction drawings are completed. At this stage we also engage the relevant consulting engineers (surveyors, geotechnical and structural).
Step 6: Fixed Price Quote
Once the drawing package is complete we will provide you with a fixed price quote, detailed specification list so you know exactly what is going into your project and a timeline so you know exactly how long it is going to take.
Step 7: Contract
Once the quote is accepted we will sign a building contract and book in a start date. If you haven’t met them already, you will be introduced to the members of our team that will be working with you on your project. At this point all necessary contract works insurance will be obtained and masterbuild guarantee application submitted.
Step 8: Build process
Work will begin onsite. Communication is key throughout the build process and we will schedule regular meetings to discuss build progress and allow you to make informed decisions if any changes are required. We are there to make the process a seamless and stress free experience.
Step 9: Handover
Once the work is completed and has passed all quality assurance inspections you will be handed the keys to your new or newly renovated home. You will be given access to our online warranty and guarantee platform that reminds you of the ongoing maintenance requirements to keep your home in the best possible condition for many years to come.
